Macquarie Tech Group Buys Macquarie Park Data Centre

Macquarie Technology Group Limited (ASX: MAQ) has finalized a deal to purchase Intellicentre 2 and 3 East land and buildings at Macquarie Park for AU$174 million from Keppel DC REIT. The acquisition, scheduled for completion in the second half of fiscal year 2024, aims to consolidate the company's control over its data center campus and support expansion plans, particularly the development of IC3 SuperWest. 

The transaction involves a AU$90 million loan note issued to Keppel with a 6.97% interest rate, due in 8 years and 6 months. This strategic purchase enhances Macquarie Data Centres’ position to meet growing cloud and AI-driven demand, offering long-term asset control for better scale delivery and value creation, while aligning with global industry standards.
