Lucapa Diamond Company (ASX: LOM) provided an update on its Lulo Kimberlite exploration activities for the quarter ending 30 September 2024. Six samples from the Kimberlite Bulk Sampling Plant (KBSP) were processed, though no diamonds were recovered. However, the results suggest that the diamonds sourced from alluvials likely originated from a limited number of kimberlites, enhancing the prospects of these targets.
Lucapa has identified five new priority kimberlites for bulk sampling and plans to excavate a second sample from the L014 kimberlite after the wet season. The KBSP, operational for two years, has processed 48 samples from 26 kimberlites, surpassing initial targets. Additionally, more than 1,200 kilometers of roads have been developed to improve access to exploration sites. The company's exploration efforts, backed by strategic road networks and advanced sampling methodologies, continue to refine and prioritize high-potential diamond-bearing kimberlite targets.
