Hillgrove Resources Limited (ASX: HGO) has announced a significant milestone with the maiden underground ore reserve and a 96% increase in the copper mineral resource at its Kanmantoo Copper Mine in South Australia. The 2024 Maiden Ore Reserve stands at 2.8 Mt, grading 0.91% copper and 0.15 g/t gold, containing 26 kt of copper and 14 koz of gold. The Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) has grown to 19.3 Mt at 0.77% copper and 0.14 g/t gold, marking a 96% and 138% increase in contained copper and gold, respectively, compared to 2022.
This growth results from improved geological classification, updated copper prices, and new discoveries at North Kavanagh and Emily Star. CEO Bob Fulker emphasized the potential for further resource conversion, aiming to extend the mine's life. With underground operations already underway and first copper production achieved in 2024, Hillgrove remains focused on reliable delivery and sustainable growth.
