Gold exploration starts at Sandstone project near Alto Metals Lord Nelson

Western Gold Resources (ASX: WGR) has commenced its first exploration program at the Sandstone Gold Project in Western Australia following the grant of the exploration license, which will also include lithium assays. The project is just 3km along strike from Alto Metals Ltd's high-grade Lord Nelson Gold Project, known for its historic production of 207koz at 4.6g/t Au. Recent results from the Lord Nelson Project have indicated significant gold mineralization, with findings of 67m at 2.3g/t Au.

The Sandstone Project enhances WGR's extensive gold interests in the northeastern Yilgarn region and complements its advanced Gold Duke gold project 35km southwest of Wiluna. As gold prices approach record highs, WGR is expected to release a production Scoping Study soon.
