On that note, let us look at a few global reasons impacting the stock market today.
1. Some of the key U.S. indices ended lower in their previous session. NASDAQ Composite ended higher, NASDAQ-100, Dow jones and S&P 500 ended lower 0.80%, 0.33%, 0.06%, 0.60% respectively.
2. Oil prices fell by roughly $2 a barrel to their lowest level since late March in the previous session, pulled down by worries of a probable recession and an increase in US petrol inventories.
3. Natural gas futures returned to positive territory in the previous session, following a three-day gain that was halted in the previous session as traders pondered the market's direction in the aftermath of a greater weekly storage increase.
4. Japanese consumer price index inflation remained constant from the previous month in March, maintaining significantly over the Bank of Japan's target range, as government subsidies had no effect on reducing price pressures.
5. South Korea's producer inflation decreased in March to its lowest level in 25 months, according to central bank statistics released on Friday, with agricultural and petroleum items leading the way.
6. The Hang Seng is up 0.14 % and FTSE 100 is up 0.05%.
