GLN updates HMW lithium brine project in Catamarca, Argentina

Galan Lithium Limited (ASX: GLN) has shared an update on its Hombre Muerto West (HMW) lithium brine project in Catamarca Province, Argentina. Their recent efforts have focused on project construction, Phase 2 DFS, and exploration activities. The fourth long-term pumping test (PBRS-03-23) yielded outstanding results, with an impressive lithium grade of 981 mg/L, the highest recorded in the Hombre Muerto Salar.

Pond construction for HMW Phase 1 has been confirmed as feasible, and the existing pilot plant continues to produce 6% Li lithium chloride samples, supporting off-take negotiations. All six initial Phase 1 brine production wells are now successfully constructed. In exploration, drilling in the newly consolidated Catalina Area has shown promise, confirming the continuity of a highly fractured geological domain at 300 meters depth. A 72-hour airlift test demonstrated significant permeability potential, achieving a flow rate of 6 L/s compared to previous averages of 1-3 L/s.
