Genex Power Limited (ASX: GNX) announced a significant milestone in its renewable energy endeavours. Today, their wholly owned subsidiary has forged a momentous 25-year solar power purchase agreement (PPA) with a Fortescue Metals Group Limited (Fortescue) subsidiary for the Bulli Creek Solar and Battery Project (BCP), boasting a capacity of up to 2GW.
Under this agreement, Genex secures the offtake rights for an impressive 337.5MW of solar energy, in addition to large-scale generation certificates, which will be pivotal in the production of green hydrogen and ammonia. This commitment solidifies solar as the initial phase of the BCP development, a project we are pursuing in collaboration with Electric Power Development Co., Ltd (J-POWER) and Solar Choice Pty Ltd as a co-developer. Furthermore, ongoing discussions with additional parties may boost BCP's capacity to 775MW, potentially making it Australia's largest grid-connected solar farm. This underscores our commitment to advancing renewable energy solutions.
