FFI and TES collaborates to develop Green Hydrogen Energy import facility in Germany

Fortescue Metals Group Ltd (ASX: FMG) announced that Fortescue Future Industries (FFI) had signed a global strategic deal with Tree Energy Solutions (TES), which targets to increase the development of the world-leading green hydrogen and green energy import facility in Germany. The company has highlighted that Fortescue Future Industries will fund the investments of €130 million (US$127 million) by its unutilized capital commitment and will allow the company to get access to critical infrastructure to implement its strategy.

As per the agreement, Netherlands Fortescue Future Industries Holdings B.V. will invest €30 million (US$29 million) to become a shareholder in Tree Energy Solutions B.V. It will also invest €100 million (US$98 million) in TES terminal construction in Wilhelmshaven, Germany and become the key shareholder in Tree Energy with 30% interest in Deutsche Grüngas und Energieversorgung GmbH (a subsidiary of Tree Energy Solutions).

TES is working on a group of terminals worldwide that will allow the transportation of green energy. Preliminary partnership projects will be based in Australia, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, with the first delivery of green hydrogen expected in 2026.
