Environmental approval granted for Leupane energy hub and Industrial Park

Botala Energy Ltd (ASX: BTE) has received environmental approval from the Department of Environmental Protection for developing the Leupane Energy Hub and Industrial Park. This significant milestone enables the near-term launch of critical projects, including a 250MW solar project in partnership with AAAS from the Netherlands and a photovoltaic panel manufacturing plant with Solar Finland.

In the medium term, plans include a 200MW gas-fired electricity generation plant, a liquefied natural gas (LNG) or compressed natural gas (CNG) facility and an industrial park to attract industries by providing reliable energy. Additionally, a beneficiation plant will be established to process copper concentrates, aligning with the Botswana Government's objective of enhancing in-country value-adding. Applications for necessary licenses and permits are in progress.
