Empire has completed the Carpinteria 5H drilling program

Empire Energy Group Limited (ASX: EEG) has achieved a significant milestone by successfully drilling the Carpentaria-5H well in the Beetaloo Basin, targeting the Velkerri-B shale formation. The well reached 5,310 metres on 20 December 2024, including a 3,310-metre horizontal section drilled in just eight days—slightly faster than the pre-drill schedule.

Intense gas shows were observed throughout the horizontal section, drilled entirely within the Velkerri-B shale. C-5H, Empire's longest horizontal well to date, is a crucial step in the Carpentaria Pilot Project, bringing the company closer to first gas. The drilling cost is estimated at ~AU$19.7 million, with significant potential for cost reductions in future multi-well campaigns. Empire anticipates substantial efficiency improvements.
