Comet Ridge Advances Mahalo Gas Hub Pipeline Development

Comet Ridge Limited (ASX: COI), an Australian energy company, has partnered with Jemena to initiate Front End Engineering Design (FEED) for the proposed Mahalo Gas Hub Pipeline (MGHP). This pipeline will link the Mahalo Joint Venture's gas assets—jointly owned by Comet Ridge (57.14%) and Santos (42.86%)—to Queensland’s key gas infrastructure, including the Queensland Gas Pipeline and GLNG Pipeline. Jemena, a leading pipeline operator, is funding the FEED phase and may build, own, and operate the MGHP following a final investment decision (FID). The project represents a major milestone in Comet Ridge’s strategy to address the growing gas supply gap on Australia’s east coast. The Mahalo Gas Hub, notable for its low-cost, low-CO₂ natural gas reserves, is positioned near Gladstone and Wallumbilla, allowing efficient access to domestic and LNG markets. This collaboration enhances Comet Ridge’s role in supporting cleaner energy solutions and industrial needs.
