Cleanaway expects reduction in EBITDA for the Health Services business unit

Cleanaway Waste Management Limited (ASX: CWY) provided an update about a fire at its medical waste processing facility in Dandenong, Victoria yesterday. It has resulted int significant damage to the equipment at the site. Because of this damage, the Company now expects that its operations of the Health Services business unit in Victoria will be impacted for some time.

At present, the Company is looking for an alternative disposal way to treat as well as dispose medical waste that would otherwise be processed at the site, together with temporary licence approvals to treat and dispose of waste at other Cleanaway facilities and disposal with third parties.

The Company’s initial estimate of the impact of the disruption to service will result in reduction in EBITDA for the Health Services business unit of ~AU$2 to AU$3 million per month.
