Can Krakatoa Advance Zopkhito Toward a JORC Resource Following Its Upcoming Drilling Campaign?
Krakatoa Resources Limited (ASX: KTA) is preparing to recommence exploration activities at its Zopkhito Antimony-Gold Project in Georgia after completing key preparations for the 2026 field season and securing additional exploration tenure flexibility. The Company recently received a two-year extension to undertake exploration work under its mining licence, providing greater time to advance resource definition and development activities at the project. The upcoming campaign follows encouraging drilling completed in 2025, which confirmed the continuation of high-grade antimony and gold mineralisation beyond historical underground workings and highlighted the presence of a broader mineralised system. Management plans to focus the next phase of work on resource definition drilling, metallurgical enhancement studies and preliminary mining assessments aimed at supporting a future JORC-compliant Mineral Resource Estimate. Environmental baseline studies and permitting activities are also progressing alongside technical work programs. Surface and underground drilling is expected to commence shortly as Krakatoa seeks to further unlock the development potential of one of Europe’s emerging antimony-gold projects.
