Calix Provides Update on PLS Mid-stream Demonstration Plant

Calix Limited (ASX: CXL) in collaboration with Pilbara Minerals Limited, provides an update on the progress of their mid-stream demonstration plant being developed in joint venture. The detailed front-end engineering and design (FEED) of the proposed plant, aimed at supporting a Final Investment Decision (FID), has made significant strides since the joint venture began in November 2022.

To ensure uninterrupted development, both parties have agreed to expedite certain project expenditures originally planned for post-FID. The FID is expected to be presented to the Boards of both companies for approval by the end of July. This initiative is backed by an AU$20 million grant from the Australian Government's Modern Manufacturing Initiative (MMI), with an initial payment of AU$8 million already received. A successful demonstration could pave the way for a commercial-scale plant and global licensing of the calcination technology.
