Botala Energy Ltd has been awarded the tender for a solar project in Serowe, Botswana

Botala Energy Ltd (ASX: BTE) announced that it has been awarded a tender by the Botswana Power Corporation to build a 4MW Solar Power Plant in Botswana's proposed Serowe Energy Hub. The Serowe Solar Consortium, citizen-owned and led by Botala, has been chosen to undertake this project. Botala, as the Project Leader and 49% owner, has entered into a binding power purchase agreement for Project Phuthi and will be responsible for constructing and operating the power facility.

The deal ensures favorable project economics through a 25-year, CPI-linked Power Purchase Agreement. This marks a significant milestone in Botala's efforts to expand its energy portfolio, with the plant set to be in Botala's Serowe Energy Hub next to its proposed 20MW gas/solar hybrid. Botala's equity is fully funded to cover project development fees.
