Australasian Metals Acquires High-Purity Quartz Project

May 27, 2024

Australasian Metals (ASX: A8G) has signed an option agreement to acquire the Dingo Hole High-Purity Quartz (HPQ) project in Northern Territory. This acquisition aims to capitalize on the increasing demand for high-purity quartz, essential for global semiconductor and electronics industries. The project boasts significant silica mineralization with over 30 surface samples indicating more than 99.94% SiO2 content.

Notably, nine samples meet the stringent IOTA® standard, showcasing low levels of contaminants like aluminum, titanium, and lithium. The Dingo Hole project, located in the Georgina Basin, benefits from good road access. Australasian Metals' Managing Director, Dr. Qingtao Zeng, emphasized the project's potential to meet the high-purity quartz market's demands, driven by AI-related semiconductor applications and photovoltaic solar growth. The first supply of high-purity silica is expected soon.
