Austin Metals Initiates Drilling at Promising Ashburton Project

Austin Metals Limited (ASX: AYT), a Western Australia-focused gold and precious metals explorer, has commenced RC drilling at its highly prospective Ashburton Copper-Gold Project. The maiden ~1,500m drill program targets shallow, high-grade gold-copper mineralisation across several high-priority zones previously identified through trenching and surface sampling. Notable prior results include 12m @ 12.5g/t Au and 1.7% Cu, and rock chips grading up to 14.7% Cu. The project spans ~510 km² across eight exploration tenements and one prospecting license. Initial drilling will focus on the Donnelly’s Prospect, an untested zone with a 1.2 km mineralised trend. In parallel, the company has completed drilling at its Austin Gold Project near Cue, with assay results pending. These initiatives reflect Austin’s broader strategy to establish significant gold and copper resources in underexplored yet geologically rich regions of WA, reinforcing its position in the Murchison and Ashburton mineral provinces.
