Aurum Resources Limited (ASX: AUE) has initiated aircore drilling at the Ryans Find Project, signalling a significant milestone. The drilling campaign entails 74 holes, reaching depths of up to 60 meters, totalling around 3,500 meters in length. Wallis Drilling, employing a Mantis 200AC rig, is conducting the drilling operations, expected to conclude within 2-3 weeks. Sample composites, taken at 4-meter intervals with respect to lithological boundaries, will undergo gold assays, while 1-meter segments of weathered basement intersections may be assessed for base metals.
The drill site selection is guided by profile soil sampling, targeting base metals and gold along north-north-westerly striking greenstones where prior gold sampling results hinted at potential. This aircore drilling effort will investigate these anomalous areas, aligning with magnetic units associated with elevated gold in soils, and is set to make azimuths of 225 degrees with dips of -60 degrees, in alignment with the local geological strike.
