Atlas Arteria Stands Firm Against IFM’s Acquisition Bid
Atlas Arteria (ASX: ALX) has reinforced its position against the takeover proposal from IFM, urging securityholders not to accept the current offer. Through a supplementary statement, the company emphasised that the proposal continues to carry several outstanding conditions, creating uncertainty around its completion. The board believes the offer does not adequately reflect the long-term value of the business and its portfolio of toll road assets.
The company also noted that the bidder recently extended the offer period without removing any key conditions, indicating that the transaction remains far from certain. Atlas Arteria highlighted that investors are not required to make a rushed decision and will have the opportunity to assess any future developments before the offer expires.
In addition, the company pointed to the potential for ongoing shareholder returns through expected distributions and any future capital released from asset transactions.
