Apollo Minerals Limited Secures Acquisition of Belgrade Copper Project

Apollo Minerals Limited (ASX: AON) has successfully finalized the acquisition of Edelweiss Mineral Exploration d.o.o (Edelweiss), securing ownership of the Belgrade Copper Project located in Serbia, Europe. These licenses, totalling 202km2, were originally within Reservoir Minerals Inc.'s Serbian copper exploration holdings. Nevsun Resources Ltd bought them for US$365 million in 2016, and in 2018, Zijin Mining Group Co acquired the portfolio for US$1.4 billion.

Noteworthy aspects include its potential for significant discoveries akin to the Kupferschiefer style, similar to Poland's vast copper deposits, along with extensive unexplored contact areas covering more than 70km. Historical assays revealed high copper and silver values, a trend upheld by recent Apollo Minerals fieldwork, affirming substantial surface copper and silver anomalism. Positioned near key European copper markets with modern infrastructure and a proficient local mining workforce, the project is strategically located merely 80km from Zijin's renowned Bor copper mines. Apollo Minerals has initiated fieldwork targeting the Studena and Donja Mutnica prospects as part of its strategic plan.
