AML3D Limited (ASX: AL3) has secured a significant order, valued at around AU$2.2 million, for a custom-built ARCEMY® metal 3D printing system. The order, the second from value-added reseller Phillips Corporation, under their arrangement since April 2023, will see the installation of the system at Austal’s USA Advanced Technologies facility in Charlottesville, Virginia. The customized ARCEMY® unit, based on the ARCEMY® 6700 system, will be the largest, with an 11,000kg positioner and 4-meter linear rail, offering a build volume of 35 cubic meters.
Expected to be operational by mid-2024, the system will play a pivotal role in advancing additive manufacturing capabilities at Austal USA Advanced Technologies, contributing to the U.S. Navy's supply chain and industrial base for enhanced defense and submarine construction. This development reinforces Austal USA Advanced Technologies' position at the forefront of additive manufacturing, overseeing the Navy’s Additive Manufacturing Center of Excellence in Danville, Virginia.
