American West Metals Intercepts thick Copper at Storm Copper Project, Canada

On May 09 2023, American West Metals Limited (ASX: AW1) announced that another five Reverse Circulation (RC) drill holes have been completed at the 4100N Zone, providing evidence that the Storm Copper Project in Canada is still producing thick copper intercepts. All drill holes intersected thick intervals of copper sulphides, which include visual copper sulphides ranging from 13.7 meters to 32 meters. The purpose of the 4100N drilling program is to facilitate the calculation of a maiden resource estimate, as significant copper mineralization has already been encountered over a strike length of 1,000 meters.

The next set of drill samples has been dispatched to the laboratory for analysis, and the RC drilling is still in progress, with plans to drill an additional 10-12 holes in the 4100N Zone. A Moving Loop Electromagnetic (MLEM) survey is nearing completion at the 4100N Zone, with new, strong conductors identified for drilling. Furthermore, a ground gravity survey has been completed to identify drill targets at the deeper sedimentary copper system at Storm. Currently, the information gathered from the survey is undergoing analysis in preparation for diamond drilling. The underexplored Tempest Prospect, which hosts a 250-meter long copper gossan, will undergo MLEM survey in the future.
