Amcor to Acquire Berry Group in AU$13 Billion Deal

Amcor Plc (ASX: AMC) has announced plans to acquire Berry Group in a AU$13 billion (USD $8.4 billion) all-scrip deal. The merger will create a global packaging powerhouse with 400 plants, 75,000 employees, and a diverse customer base spanning consumer and healthcare sectors.

Under the agreement, Berry Group shareholders will receive 7.25 Amcor shares for each Berry share, valuing Berry’s stock at US$73.59 per share. Post-merger, Amcor shareholders will hold a 63% stake in the combined company, while Berry shareholders will own 37%. Following the announcement, Amcor’s US-listed shares fell 2.7% to US$9.88, while its ASX-listed shares last traded at AU$15.70. The acquisition is set to significantly expand Amcor’s global footprint and strengthen its position in the packaging industry.
