Alice Queen Secures Drilling Contract for Horn Island Gold Project
Alice Queen Limited (ASX: AQX) has taken a significant step forward in advancing its flagship Horn Island Gold Project in the Torres Strait, Queensland, by securing an exploration drilling contractor and recommencing on-ground drilling activities. The company has engaged a dual-purpose, track-mounted rig capable of both Reverse Circulation (RC) and Diamond Core drilling, providing flexibility for exploration, extension, and infill drilling programs. The drilling campaign is planned to commence in July, with final logistics and site preparations currently underway. Funding for the program is being supported through the company’s partially underwritten entitlement offer.
The upcoming multi-phase drilling program is expected to accelerate exploration efforts and improve understanding of the project’s resource potential. Managing Director Andrew Buxton highlighted that securing the drilling contract represents a key milestone in unlocking the scale of the Horn Island asset. Supported by a strengthened technical team and a favourable gold price environment, the company anticipates a steady flow of exploration results over the coming months as assay outcomes are received, potentially providing important catalysts for investors.
