ABS updates on Quarterly statistics on private new capital expenditure and expected expenditure

Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) has provided quarterly statistics about actual and expected private new capex investment spend on building by industry.

  • Total new capital expenditure declined 0.6% in September 2022 quarter compared June 2022 quarter.
  • Buildings and structures improved 0.5%.
  • Equipment, plant and machinery declined 1.6%.
  • The trend estimates for buildings and structures declined 0.8%.
  • The seasonally adjusted estimate for buildings and structures rose 0.5%.
  • The trend estimates for equipment, plant and machinery increased 0.5%.
  • The trend estimate for Mining fell 1.8%.
  •  The seasonally adjusted estimate for Mining fell 5.1%.
  • The trend estimate for Non-mining improved 0.4%
