29Metals Limited stopped all production and non-essential activities at Capricorn Copper

29Metals Limited (ASX: 29M) announced that all production and non-essential activities at Capricorn Copper had ceased following 200mm of rain on the evening of 07 March 2023. So far, the rainy season in northwest Queensland has been well over average, with about 370mm of rainfall reported during the seven days, resulting in periodic road closures to Capricorn Copper.

The combination of the extremely high rainfall overnight and significantly above average rainfall for the wet season to-date has also resulted in a significant increase in the volume of water held on site. The exceptionally heavy rain on the evening of 07 March 2023 is projected to cause a lengthy lack of road access to the site, affecting deliveries of production consumables to the site.
