All 11 sectors are trading higher along with the gain in the S&P/ASX 200. The Consumer Discretionary and Financials sectors are the top 2 gaining sectors, gaining 1.15% and 0.86% in their index values.

Neuren Pharmaceuticals Limited (ASX: NEU) and Zip Co Limited (ASX: ZIP) are the top-gaining stocks, gaining 5.012% and 4.576% in their stock prices. On the other hand, Bellevue Gold Limited (ASX: BGL) and The Star Entertainment Group Limited (ASX: SGR) are the top-losing stocks and are declining by 1.303% and 1.112% in their stock prices.

Factors influencing the market-

• S&P/ASX 200 is gaining following NASDAQ climbed 1.4% buoyed by a near 3% rally for chipmaker Nvidia, which overtook Apple to become the largest company in the world, with a market cap of US$3.43 trillion. The rally was also fuelled by a 23% surge in Palantir Technologies after it signaled “unwavering demand” for artificial intelligence.
• Oil prices settled higher in the previous session on expectations for supply disruptions in the U.S. as a Tropical Storm Rafael barrels toward the Gulf of Mexico.
• The Dow has closed up by 1.02%, the S&P 500 closed up by 1.23%, and the NASDAQ ended higher by 1.42%.
• Hang Seng is up by 2.14%, and FTSE 100 is down by 0.14%.
