Why 4DS, Lindian Resources, Red 5, and WC8 shares racing higher?

Sep 19, 2023

The Australian stock market has seen significant activity as four companies, 4DS Memory Limited (ASX:4DS), Lindian Resources Limited (ASX:LIN), Red 5 Limited (ASX:RED), and Wildcat Resources Limited (ASX:WC8), make headlines with remarkable achievements and strategic investments, sending their share prices racing higher.

  • 4DS Memory Limited (ASX:4DS) has made a breakthrough in its Fourth Platform Lot analysis, focusing on optimizing conditions for 60nm memory cells. The results are impressive, with a write speed of 9.5 nanoseconds, surpassing DRAM speeds. Endurance exceeds 3 billion cycles, equivalent to DRAM read speed, and boasts persistent, tuneable retention. This success follows the transfer of process improvements from the Stanford Nanofabrication Facility into the megabit array. 4DS Memory is now well-positioned in the memory space, aiming for DRAM-like performance. David McAuliffe has taken the role of Executive Chairman.
  • Lindian Resources Limited (ASX:LIN) has reported excellent results from its exploration drilling program at the Kangankunde Rare Earths Project in Malawi. One of the drill holes, KGKDD009, intercepted mineralization over 1,000 meters with a grade of 2.6% TREO (Total Rare Earth Oxides). Notable sections included 805.26 meters at 2.90% TREO and 652.41 meters at 3.0% TREO, extending approximately 700 meters below the current resource estimate. The average grade of critical rare earth elements neodymium-praseodymium (NdPr) was around 18.2% of TREO. Additionally, drill hole KGKRCDD083 provided valuable data, indicating mineralization extending further west than previously thought. These findings underscore the significant potential of the Kangankunde mineralized carbonatite system, which remains open in all directions, including depth. A phase 3 drill program is underway to define indicated resources for mine development feasibility studies.
  • Silver Lake Resources Limited (ASX: SLR)  has made a strategic investment by acquiring approximately 11% (about 383 million shares) of ASX-listed gold producer Red 5 Limited (ASX:RED). Red 5 owns the King of the Hills operation and is active in the Leonora district, Western Australia. This investment signifies Silver Lake's intent to capitalize on opportunities swiftly. The company has a strong cash balance and projected free cash flow, with a strategy to become a larger, more cost-effective, and enduring business. Its asset portfolio mainly focuses on Western Australia, including operations such as Mount Monger and Deflector, with growth potential in the Sugar Zone mine and unexplored land in Northern Ontario, Canada.
  • Wildcat Resources Limited (ASX:WC8) has gained momentum with its drilling at the Tabba Tabba Lithium Tantalum Project in Western Australia's Pilbara region. Initial assays from 21 Reverse Circulation (RC) holes have unveiled substantial lithium mineralization in northern and central pegmatite clusters, hinting at the potential for a significant lithium deposit. Highlights include a central pegmatite zone extending over 1.2 kilometers with widths of up to 132 meters. Notable results from the central cluster include an 85-meter intercept from the surface with 1.1% Li2O (including 59 meters at 1.5% Li2O) and a 218-meter intercept from 16 meters with 0.8% Li2O (including several high-grade zones). In the northern cluster, positive intercepts include 21 meters at 1.1% Li2O and 26 meters at 0.9% Li2O. Wildcat plans to deploy a diamond drill rig in October to expedite exploration. The company anticipates continuous assay results in the coming months and aims to unlock a significant lithium deposit, given its proximity to major lithium projects like Pilgangoora and Wodgina. Foreign Investment Review Board (FIRB) approval for the acquisition of Tabba Tabba is expected, along with Ministerial Approval by the end of September.

These developments underscore the dynamism and potential within the Australian stock market, driven by technological advancements, resource discoveries, and strategic investments, as these four companies continue to capture investor attention with their remarkable achievements and future prospects.
